I have just returned home from a trip up north with a major university. Some of the items we discussed were focusing on the simple. Often companies try to push the more complicated solution when it is not needed. Yes these new records management programs are neat and interesting but is it what the client is after? What is your problem or goal and how can we achieve it? This is the first question we try to ask and from there we can find a solution and work towards assimilating everyone to the new process. Sometimes it is better to take things in steps. Let us first backup all of your past information, then once everyone sees its advantages and is accustomed to how it works, implement a system for the future. This is of course, not always how jobs should be approached but often it is. Not everything needs to be done at once but rather evolutionary steps.
