Over the past 20 years we have seen a boom in the document shredding industry. With new regulations such as HIPAA, the confidentiality and security of documents has become a major part of everyday operations. The desktop shredder has become commonplace amongst the offices and cubicles of organizations both large and small. But what about those documents whose contents are so highly confidential their existence would be much better served if they did not exist at all? P2E Scanning Services out of Haverhill, Massachusetts, is hoping to target those documents with their new service offering: Pulping Technology.
P2E Scanning Services has teamed up with JMD Manufacturing out of Framingham, Massachusetts, the inventor of the patented process, to create a full service document destruction solution.
Pulping Technology breaks documents down to their pre paper form for absolute destruction. Inks and toners are dissolved into the solution and the paper, cardboard, folders and confidential documents are disintegrated into the solution.
This technology has previously only been offered as a small personal pulper, known as the Nano-Decopier, and has been used at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. P2E hopes to bring this technology to a larger market with bulk offerings. Documents would be placed in locked barrels, similar to the ones used in the current shredding industry, and taken to away to be pulped at a secure location.
P2E thinks this technology will ultimately replace shredding technology because of its security and its environmental friendliness. Pulping is a completely green process and uses much less energy than current shredders.
